Website Help and User Guide

Website Help and User Guide

We’ve put this Visit Fylde Coast website help and user guide together for you because we don’t want you to miss anything!

It’s already a big digital media product and it’s only going to get bigger and better. We’ve got websites, social media pages and a weekly email newsletter, plus ways for you to join in.

About these sites

Visit Fylde Coast is a range of interlinked websites covering the Fylde Coast, independently published for you by The Rabbit Patch. We’re a design and creatives company based in sunny Cleveleys.

We know that you might like one of the Fylde Coast towns – or you might like them all. So there are sites with specific local information for each of Fleetwood, Cleveleys, Poulton-le-Fylde, Blackpool, St Annes and Lytham.

Visit Fylde Coast is where you’ll find anything that’s general to all of this coast. Along with topical and lifestyle material like gardening, cooking, pets, health, business pages, the events calendar etc.

We also publish theBlackpoolilluminations.info – all about, yep – the Blackpool Illuminations!

And we have our own online shop SeasideEmporium.co.uk where you can buy prints of our own original photographs and paintings of the area.

Navigation

The new-look Visit Fylde Coast was launched in April 2018. It’s a little different to the previous version but all of the same information is in more or less the same place.

We’re slowly plodding our way through the thousands of pages of content, reviewing and updating everything, and filling any gaps. If you spot something you think should be a priority for review, please let us know.

  • The search  box – is the quickest way of finding out what you want to know.
  • Use the Tags to browse around.

This website help and user guide is designed to help you to join in!

We’ve put this user guide together to make sure that you don’t miss out on anything that you’d otherwise enjoy.

You’ll notice that you can now comment on each article on all of the websites. If you’ve got extra information or something to add, please do so. Together we’ll build up a much better resource and enjoy sharing what we know about the fabulous Fylde Coast.

Comments are approved before publication. This is to weed out spam and adverts for pay-day loans. If your comment is unsuitable for publication we will contact you and tell you why.

You might prefer to join in on social media, send us an email, or leave a comment online. However you do it, please feel free to join in – we love to hear from you!

Events

The events calendar on Visit Fylde Coast is the biggest and best guide to what’s on for the area. Each of our place-based websites will direct you there.

The first page displays the most current upcoming events for today onwards. Events are searchable by date or description. You can also view events as a list or as a calendar to suit your own preference. There’s also the facility to export events to your own calendar.

You’ll also find more detail about the bigger events in the ‘Events – Featured’ section on each site.

Submit your event by emailing full details to jane@theRabbitPatch.co.uk.  (The ‘add your event’ function will be back in due course). Community events are listed free of charge but business can also list their events for a small fee – advertise here.

Newsletter

We publish a weekly email newsletter with lots of interesting things in it, straight to your inbox every week. It includes a full list of what’s on in the coming week.

To receive it – Just sign up here.

Website Links

If we’ve covered your information or group on Visit Fylde Coast, we’d love you to share the link on your own website or Facebook page. Please download and use this logo:

We're on Visit Fylde Coast

We always appreciate links written into the text of your website. The most valuable ones to us are written words that makes sense, linked to the address of the webpage (rather than linking to ‘click here’ because search engines don’t understand what that means). So you might write ‘Take a look at the Visit Fleetwood Website’ and link that to the web address.

If you’d like any of our other logos sending to you please get in touch – just email jane@theRabbitPatch.co.uk

How to advertise with Visit Fylde Coast

Your own dedicated business page is so much more than a faceless box ad which search engines can’t see.

Our advertising includes the use of social media/Facebook and Twitter, email newsletter, the Events Calendar and so much more.

We don’t receive any funding to publish Visit Fylde Coast. Advertising revenue enables us to produce which is still the only product of its type that celebrates the whole of the Fylde Coast.
